Aligning objects in document windows

When designing the user interface it is often useful to align objects. One way of doing so is use the alignment guides provided automatically when dragging an object within or into a document window.
These guides allow aligning the object being dragged, to the corresponding sides of the objects already in the window.

It is also possible to align objects centered in the window.
These guides appear in a different color to distinguish them from object alignment guides.
